Citrus Australia Visit edp
Nathan Hancock CEO, Ricard Byllaardt Board Chair and Kerry Thompson Project Officer – Policy & Membership of Citrus Australia recently visited edp. Nathan gave an insight on what is happening currently with Citrus Australia and the challenges the industry is facing.
edp General Manager Ray Thrum & Operations Manager Billy Wong showed Nathan, Richard & Kerry around the edp factory. edp has an extensive manufacturing facility incorporating the latest digital CNC Machinery, a large service and store section, stocking a full range of parts and consumables used in the fresh produce industry.
One of edp new products shown, was the N63 Minibagger Box/Crate filler which has recently been installed. The Citrus Customer requested 5 units be supplied, our design then created an automatic system to suit the customers’ requirements with automatically weighing and filling of boxes. The completed result reduced staff numbers from 8 down to 4 with the installation of new N63 Minibagger Box/Crate fillers, still meeting customer packing targets.
The N63 Minibagger Box/Crate fillers have automated weighing of the box/crates on the product pack weights from 5-20kg. Automatic infeed and outfeed rollers allow for multiple empty boxes/crates to be loaded and fill boxes/crates to accumulate thus reducing the reliance on staff to operate the machine full time.
