Major Corporate Partnership
Citrus Australia is pleased to announce the extension of its Major Corporate Partnership with edp Australia.
Based in Mooroopna, Victoria, edp Australia is a leading supplier of fresh fruit and vegetable packaging solutions, including machinery and consumables. It has established a long-term relationship with the Spanish company Giro, a leader in sustainable packaging systems. Over nine years of collaboration with Citrus Australia, edp Australia and Giro have contributed extensive knowledge to the peak industry body’s members. This partnership has encompassed active participation in and support of Citrus Australia’s major annual events. Recently, Citrus Australia members undertook a study tour to Spain, visiting Giro’s manufacturing facilities and major Spanish citrus businesses.
Citrus Australia CEO Nathan Hancock emphasized that extending the Major Corporate Partnership would bolster Citrus Australia’s industry-wide initiatives:
“Throughout the past decade, edp Australia and Giro have consistently supported the Australian citrus industry. Their willingness to share expert insights has added significant value for our members. This partnership is crucial in supporting Citrus Australia’s efforts, whether in biosecurity, government advocacy, market access, or improving industry communications. We look forward to expanding our collaboration with edp Australia to further benefit our members,” Hancock stated.
Ray Thrum, General Manager of edp Australia, highlighted the company’s nearly 20-year history of delivering comprehensive solutions to citrus customers:
“We are committed to sharing the practical knowledge we’ve accumulated to foster ongoing growth within the industry and its community. With labour availability being a prominent issue in horticulture, we particularly advocate for the advantages of our automated equipment, which can enhance operational efficiency and bottom-line profitability for citrus businesses of all scales,” Thrum explained.
edp Australia supplies locally stocked consumables to the market and boasts a team of dedicated service technicians for its equipment, a majority of which is manufactured at its 7,000m² Mooroopna site. As a family-run business renowned for its quality and customer loyalty, edp Australia anticipates a promising future for the Australian citrus industry.
Thrum further expressed his optimism about the partnership with Citrus Australia:
“Among all sectors within horticulture, we find the citrus industry to be exceptionally well-organized and professionally managed. Citrus Australia plays a pivotal role in this success. We are eager to continue nurturing our relationship with Citrus Australia and its members as we grow together,” Thrum concluded.
